Learn moreCourse overview
This presentation will provide a general introduction to the important concepts of PK/PD as they relate to antimicrobials and specific infections/clinical conditions. The session will also focus on how laboratory data (MICs) are used to guide therapeutic decisions in connection with the stewardship program (for example, "Susceptible Dose Dependent" category for Cefepime and Enterobacteriaceae or Carbapenem infusion strategies for CRE). Learning Objectives: Identify key components of parameters used to determine PK/PD targets. Explain the clinical utility of PK/PD parameters. List key areas in clinical medicine where MICs and PK/PD optimization have been shown to optimize patient outcomes.
