Course overview
The purpose of this activity is to enhance RN knowledge of potential emergency scenarios related to hyperbaric chamber operation and awareness of suggested safety interventions. This activity will also enhance RN knowledge of performance improvement recommendations and how to design an interactive safety drill. Locking cam failure is rare. When real events happen, chamber operators should be prepared to follow proper steps for safety removing patients from chamber. Near misses and adverse events do occur and these events need to be used for performance improvement. Designing an interactive safety drill is different from a table-top drill.
