Course overview
How does one define leadership? Is it based on a ranked status, formal education and training, or seniority? It is based on context, culture, desire, or opportunity? The tried-and-true question is often raised: What is leadership? A single definition of leadership is futile because it is dependent on the relationship between the "leader" and "follower"; thus, leadership can come in all shapes and sizes (McCleskey, 2014). Studies on leadership span the millennia; however, review of the current literature can expand our appreciation of leadership practices in an effort to become effective in this role.
