Strength Training Part 2: Frail to the Athletic Older Adult
Tracking # 20-781032
Course overview
Correctly performed strength training is very safe for older adults and is an effective tool used by physical therapists to promote successful aging. Many older adults were not physically active when younger and have not built an adequate strength reserve during their younger years; many become sarcopenic and eventually frail. Fortunately, sarcopenic muscle responds favorably to strength training with significant increase in strength. PTs can impact the effects of sarcopenia and improve quality of life for frail older adults by implementing strength training into their routines.
