Dementia Care: Nursing Evaluation

Course overview

The care of a person with dementia requires you to have a wide range of skills and knowledge. To provide the best care, you must be able to identify unique problems, strengths, and needs of individuals with dementia. This course discusses how to complete an evidence-based nursing assessment for individuals with dementia. It also discusses how to use the assessment data you collected to create a person-centered care plan. Without the knowledge of how to perform a nursing assessment and develop a person-centered care plan for individuals with dementia, these individuals will have a decreased quality of life. The goal of this course is to educate nursing professionals in post-acute care on evaluating individuals with dementia.
