Course overview

Doctors use PRP to encourage healing and to reduce inflammation. Platelet rich plasma PRP therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patients own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. In this way, PRP injections use each individual patients own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems. PRP injections are prepared by taking anywhere from one to a few tubes of your own blood and running it through a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are then injected directly into your injured or diseased body tissue. This releases growth factors that stimulate and increase the number of reparative cells your body produces. The concentration of platelets is then injected into the area of the persons body that needs to be treated. Ultrasound imaging is sometimes used to guide the injection. Because the injection contains a high concentration of platelets, which can be from 5 to 10 times more than the untreated blood, doctors theorize that the platelets will speed up healing. Platelet Rich Plasma is widely recognized as an all-in-one solution for anti-aging. Use of PRP in cosmetic treatments has helped to restore fullness to the aging face, prompt hair-growth in sparse areas, and decrease the appearance of lines and creases. During this training will be discussed all the aspects and uses of this technique
