Course overview

The training session will include the definition of opioid misuse and addiction, a brief overview of the epidemiology of opioid misuse and addiction, describe stigma associated with opioid use disorders, and provide a brief introduction to prevention and treatment services for patients with opioid misuse and addiction. The session will be approximately 90-120 minutes and will include time for attendees to ask questions. -Recognize drugs and prescription medication classifieds as opioids -Explain the stigma associated with opioid use -Describe interventions that can prevent, treat, and reduce harm associated with opioid use
