Introduction to Respiratory Therapy in Home Health

Course overview
Home health is a unique and sometimes challenging environment. In this course, respiratory therapists (RTs) who are new to the home health setting will learn what to expect including the common clinical presentations they will see, tasks to be accomplished, important factors to assess, ways to collaborate with other disciplines, and treatment modifications to their care plan. Tips for improving patient and caregiver engagement and outcomes are discussed. How to work with patients with home mechanical ventilation is not covered in detail in this course.
