Course overview

This training is for those of you who have direct contact with residents in assisted living facilities. It is designed to increase your awareness and understanding of Alzheimers disease and related dementias. Upon completion, you will understand the scope of assisted living in Florida, characteristics of Alzheimers disease and related dementias, communication challenges, caregiver issues, therapeutic design, and ethical challenges related to working with people with dementia. The author is certified as an ADRD trainer by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.
