- Infection control best-practices. Appropriate PPE. Recognizing exposure
- Discuss airborne transmission of disease, distinguishing between droplet spread versus droplet nuclei.
- Important precautions and responsibilities for EMS personnel in protecting themselves
- Considerations for international and domestic travel
Course overview
From influenza to novel strains of coronavirus, outbreaks of disease can occur that transcend geographic and demographic boundaries to impact virtually the entire world. These pandemics can only be controlled through the efforts of everyone ranging from global health organizations and government leaders to front-line health care providers and individual citizens. This two-hour course provides health care personnel with infection control best practices and other information that they can use to keep themselves, their patients, and their communities safe during a pandemic. Participants can complete this course at their own pace from the convenience of their computer or mobile device.
