Course overview

Opioid overdoses have risen to epidemic proportions in recent years. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 130 Americans die every day from an opioid overdose. As a common and life-threatening emergency, EMS providers of all levels must be prepared to recognize and effectively treat patients experiencing an opioid overdose. This course describes assessments and interventions that may be authorized at different provider levels in different jurisdictions.
