Course overview
This 5-part series provides an overview of CBT. Part 1: Introduction to Cognitive Behavioral Theory - This training introduces the basics of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, especially regarding theory and principles that are essential to understanding how to implement CBT. This training will also review some of the history and development of the theory as well as definition of common terms and concepts. (2) Part 2: Basic Concepts - This training covers specific essential concepts for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. How to structure and pace treatment and form a cognitive conceptualization are covered, as well as identification of thoughts and feelings. Practice exercises will allow trainees to apply skills discussed in session. Trainees should leave with a strong foundational knowledge of how to conduct Cognitive Behavior Therapy. (3) Part 3: Learning Theory - This training covers learning theory principles as related to Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Participants will learn about operant and classical conditioning, how these principles apply to CBT treatment, and practice identifying the application of the various principles of conditioning to treatment. Trainees should leave with improved skills in how to conduct Cognitive Behavior Therapy. (3) Part 4 and 5: CBT Interventions - This training covers specific interventions for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Participants will learn common interventions used in CBT, and work to deepen their understanding of each intervention and how to implement it. Practice exercises will allow trainees to apply skills discussed in session. Trainees should leave with improved skills in how to conduct Cognitive Behavior Therapy. The training is split into two parts, each covering different interventions. (6)
