Course overview

After a brain injury a person's cognition, behavior, and emotion can be altered. As part of the rehabilitation team, a neuropsychologist helps determine how these impairments affect the way a person learns, communicates, cares for themselves, and interacts with others. This course presents a neuropsychological and interdisciplinary approach to brain injury assessment and treatment. It will provide an overview of neuroanatomy, brain injury, and neuropsychology. It will also discuss how healthcare professionals can use this information to improve their treatment approach for people with brain injuries across all healthcare settings.
