Type 2 Diabetes & Vascular Complications: Impact on Rehabilitation

Course overview

Developing effective therapy interventions for a patient with vascular complications due to advanced diabetes (classified as type 2, stage 4) requires an understanding of this stage of the disease and the impact on the patient's clinical presentation, regardless of their referring diagnosis. This course reviews the most common vascular complications seen in this patient population and the impact of these complications on the patient's goals, plan of care, and progression. A series of case studies will model best practices for evaluating and treating patients referred to rehabilitation therapy with a co-morbidity of type 2, stage 4 diabetes in post-acute care settings.
