Evaluating Footwear for Older Adults

Course overview
Footwear is an important consideration for older adults to promote mobility, prevent injury, minimize fall risk, and provide a foundation for overall health. This course provides learners with an understanding of the most important features of footwear to accommodate common impairments of the feet. How to choose the appropriate footwear based on clinical presentation and the patient's goals are described. Learners will be able to recognize which patients may benefit from off-the-shelf vs. custom orthotics.
