Most advance care planning conversations are one-dimensional and do not prepare healthcare professionals to navigate through the intricate dimensions of decision-making with a diverse population. African Americans with strong faith will declare healing and speak in terms of supernatural healing. Healthcare professionals may perceive this as a barrier or conversation stopper. Addressing the spiritual dimensions can build trust, respect, and relationship building in advance care planning with a diverse population. This course will provide a deeper understanding of the spiritual dimensions of decision-making.
