Course overview
Diet modifications and compensatory strategies are the most commonly used interventions by SLPs who treat swallowing disorders. Unfortunately, neither one is rehabilitative in nature. In this course learn how to redefining dysphagia treatment by putting theory into practice examines current practices and discusses the role exercise may play in improved patient outcomes. We will discuss research related to exercise in dysphagia management and scientific principles of exercise-based dysphagia interventions and compare common interventions when considering scientific principles.
