Course overview

This course offers an overview of pain and effective pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions. Objectives: * Describe three barriers to effective pain management. * Identify patients at risk for under-treated pain. * Differentiate between addiction, tolerance, and dependence. * Identify assessment tools used to evaluate pain. * Differentiate between various types and classifications of pain.
