Course overview
This course discusses many of the mental health conditions which are common to Veterans and their family members including; anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and substance abuse disorders as well as the increased risk of suicide among Veterans and complications of bereavement. Methods of mental health screening for Veterans and their family members are described, appropriate interventions and treatment modalities are discussed, and available resources for Veterans and their families are identified.
