Course overview

Clinicians are often challenged by clients with aphasia and related disorders on their caseloads. This course provides the practicing clinician with the most up-to-date tools and methods, starting from the initial assessment, to establishing goals, to selecting an evidence-based treatment plan. The focus throughout the course is on functional, person-centered care. Participants will follow the case of Alan, an adult with aphasia, as the clinician works through different types of assessment data, establishing collaborative goals, and selecting treatment. The course concludes with examples of treatment plans that follow from the evidence-based, person-centered approach.
