Are you considering becoming a student supervisor? Or, do you want to ensure you are doing everything possible to give the students you supervise the best experience? ASHA tells us "clinical supervision is a distinct area of practice in speech-language pathology and ... is an essential component in the education of students and the continual professional growth of speech-language pathologists." This course is intended for SLPs who are interested in developing their teaching abilities prior to taking on their first student. Participants will be introduced to terminology, supports available for novice supervisors, and common models of supervision and feedback. Most importantly, you'll learn methods that will help you set your own goals and expectations for your supervisee. Content is relevant across settings, but given the speaker's clinical background this course may be most valuable to clinicians working in medical settings.
