Tracking # 20-881977
Course overview
Every generation faces unique challenges when it comes to mental health.¿ Today's young adults exist in a time of technological revolution where every second of their time is competed for and every potential whim is catered to by apps and sites and companies hungry for their discretionary dollars.¿ From being able to purchase drugs online to streaming video game services and an endless glut of sexual material, young adults are constantly stimulated, which brings effects that we are only just beginning to see the ramifications of.¿ Issues of substance addiction now couple with a variety of behavioral compulsions which may have started as age normative choices and actions.¿ The aim of this discussion is to provide participants with some ideas of how to talk to the young people in their life or practice about potentially problematic behavior, how to assess for potential co-occurring issues, and what next steps might look like in order to promote health, growth, and happiness.¿¿
