Course overview

Whenever speech-language pathologists need to consider different forms of service delivery because of factors beyond their control, like COVID-19, stress levels will increase. When this occurs there is often a tendency to focus on only one option (telepractice) when other forms of interventions may be more appropriate, for example, a consultative approach, when telepractice is not an option. This course focuses on a consultative model of intervention examining social and emotional concerns when providing services virtually. This course also includes functional speech and language strategies and is most relevant for clinicians working with preschoolers and school-age children.
