Course overview

This course will briefly review the history of the standards and present a method for analysis of standards to plan for intervention for students with speech sound disorders. The method begins with analysis of grade level standards, with a focus on those that may be challenging for children with speech sound disorders. Analysis of student strengths and needs and the communication expectations of the classroom follow. Using this information, SLPs plan intervention to enable the student to be successful in attaining the standards. Two speech sound disorder case studies are included. Appropriate for grades K-12 (ages 5-18). Case studies are based on elementary grades.
