This is followed by step-by-step instructions in the treatment of stuttering in this young population. The program emphasizes the concept of the child's control of his or her speech through the utilization of desensitization, mindfulness, and the child's capacity to determine if he or she will stutter or not. The course includes integrating the participation of the parent(s) into the therapeutic process as well as specific instructions for at home carryover.
