Wilderness EMT (Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician)

Course overview

Wilderness EMT is tailored for course participants who are already certified as an EMT and needs to add wilderness skills and knowledge to be certified as a Wilderness EMT. Course participants should already know human anatomy and physiology, and be familiar with common injuries as well as medical problems. They should be able to do patient assessment and basic injury care, including spinal management and back-boarding.
