Pharmaceutical Energetics

Course overview

This module will take the participants through a process where they will learn to evaluate pharmaceutical preparations through the lens of Chinese medicine. As we evaluate the pathophysiology being treated, the drugs intended function, and its potential side effects, we then discover its energetic actions and can place it into our categories of differentiation. It is becoming more important to be able to effectively understand and communicate at a higher level with patients concurrently undergoing treatments with conventional Western medicines. We will emphasize hormonal preparations for diabetes, reproductive manipulation, and thyroid abnormalities. In order that the field of Chinese medicine is strengthened and we do not become watered down by potentially intimidating Western medical jargon, this module will integrate Western medicine into Chinese medicine, not the reverse.
