Course overview

This course covers Chapter 5-7 of this TIP and examines co-occurring disorders (COD) strategies and treatment models to use, as well as treating special populations. It includes: competencies for working with clients who have COD's, guidelines for a successful therapeutic relationship, protecting confidentiality, guidelines for clients who have specific co-occurring mental disorders, people experiencing homelessness, people involved in the criminal justice system, women, people of diverse ethnic/racial backgrounds, treatment overview, treatment models, empirical evidence for ACT, treatment settings, and pharmacotherapy.
