Course overview
The purpose of this course is to review the aspects of the 12-lead electrocardiogram (EKG) that define it as a diagnostic tool. The ability to recognize normal waveforms is required to distinguish EKG abnormalities. Variations in the 12-lead EKG can occur from electrical, mechanical, and/or vascular events. The goal of this course is to prepare nurses to sit for the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine (ABCM) Cardiovascular Nursing Level I (CVRN-BC) Examination. This course is not affiliated with the ABCM.
