Course overview

Social media is here, and it's here to stay. These platforms allow friends to connect, help family members stay in touch, and provide efficient avenues for business networking. However, using the internet for business purposes comes with a whole slew of risks for behavioral health professionals. And, with Billions (with a "B") of social media users, you're bound to receive the proverbial friend request from a client at some point. This course explores how clinicians can appreciate the benefits of our online world, while ethically navigating these waters to ensure client privacy, safety, etc. This course is applicable for both prevention professionals and practitioners of all levels. Course content applies to various client populations (i.e., addiction, mental health, etc.) and is relevant for services provided in a variety of settings (clinics, shelters, jails, etc.).
