Course overview

Elder abuse is a violation of one's basic fundamental right to be safe and free from harm. Data suggests that 1 in 10 older adults experience physical, psychological, sexual abuse or financial exploitation. It is estimated that by 2050, 22% of the world population will be 60 or older. How can we prepare to help those that are vulnerable to elder abuse? During this two-hour course on Elder abuse participants will learn to recognize the various forms of elder abuse and how to intervene effectively to reduce and manage cases of suspected elder abuse. This course is a must for any professional whose work involves caring for an elder.
