This course reviews the key concepts driving the US healthcare payment system. Further, this course provides a comprehensive overview of the Continuum of Care of the past and as it is evolving currently. Emphasis is placed on the role of the savvy healthcare professional as they navigate employment across the Continuum of Care. The course presenter also expounds on recent changes to CMSs PDPM and the problem of repeat hospital admissions and fraud in the US healthcare system. Finally, the role of neurocognitive decline and the dysphagia diagnosis in the new Continuum of Care is reviewed.
