This hands on introductory course is designed for the veterinarian wishing to learn or improve their basic dental extraction technique. Participants will be able to practice the using a high speed hand piece and extraction instruments. Participants will perform single and multi-rooted tooth extractions. Emphasis will be placed on sectioning of teeth, tissue handling, gingival flap preparation, and the use of bone graft materials. Incisors, maxillary canines and premolar teeth extraction techniques will be broken down step by step. Local nerve blocks will be discussed and the correct sites for placing those nerve blocks will be identified.
