Course overview

Autism Disorder Spectrum is the fastest growing diagnosis of childhood. We will discuss the definition and diagnostic criteria, the incidence and prevalence, and the causes of the disorder. Different screening tools and recommendations will be reviewed. We will also discuss symptoms and behaviors that may suggest the presence of autism disorder spectrum, common medical comorbidities, and effective management strategies, including applied behavioral analysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, medical management, and CAM therapies.
