Precise estimates of the prevalence of different pain syndromes are uncertain; however, there may be over 30 million Americans who suffer from some type of chronic pain. This course focuses on two effective approaches to treating chronic pain: cognitive-behavioral and EMG biofeedback interventions. Learning Objectives: 1. Review the key characteristics of chronic pain: symptoms, prevalence, economic impact, etc. 2. Review treatment comparisons between cognitive-behavioral and EMG biofeedback interventions with alternative options. 3.
