Course overview

Achieving or exceeding performance targets is critical to all leaders, particularly in healthcare where the stakes are high. Additionally, developing and retaining your best employees is positively correlated to performance. Performance improvement activities are continuous in health care and whether a cross functional team or department-based project or improvement, allocating the "right" people to the project or assignment is pivotal to its success. The "right" people possess the requisite qualities and skills for the need. This session will provide information and current research on the benefits of leveraging strengths in the workplace, focusing on its impact on performance and employee happiness. You will be introduced to three methods to identify team members work strengths and provided with resources for further reference. We will discuss some of the implementation challenges of the strength-based leadership and identify practical ways you can incorporate it with your team.
