Adverse Childhood Experiences as a Risk Factor for Complicated Grief (Self-Study)

Course overview

Current research is showing links between trauma in childhood and poor lifetime physical and psychological outcomes, including at the end of life and during bereavement. In this program Dr. Crunk and Dr. Burke discuss their research findings and clinical implications of the relation between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and complicated grief in bereaved adults and offer some recommendations for intervention. They also provide ways to incorporate trauma assessment and intervention into bereavement settings.
