Course overview

Women, men, and children are trafficked for labor and/or sex in every state; probably in your county. Studies show that as many as 87 percent of victims access healthcare during their period of exploitation. Nurses are often in a position to offer help, but do we recognize the signs and symptoms seen in trafficking victims? Would we know how to reach out? Who to call? After completing this thoroughly updated learning activity, you will be better prepared to recognize the signs of human trafficking, to listen and ask the right questions, and to provide local and federal resources to help an individual find safety. New topics in 2021 include human trafficking in the age of COVID-19, trafficking of athletes, and more.
