Course overview

It is important that caregivers working in the nursing home setting be familiar with Alzheimer's disease (AD) in order to deliver care that maximizes the quality of the life of those afflicted with this disease. Understanding the stages as well as the behaviors and cognitive skill level of each phase enables caregivers, to provide individualized, person-centered care for these individuals in a caring and compassionate way.
