Course overview

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) are traumatic events that occur before the age of 18. These experiences have a significant impact on lifelong physical and mental health, future victimization or perpetration, and overall well-being. According to the Centers for Disease Control (2020), 61% of adults surveyed across 25 states reported that they had at least one adverse childhood experience. The use of creative techniques in therapy continues to grow, and using creative techniques to treat ACES can increase clients' overall quality of life. This training will look more closely at ACES, and how creative techniques can be used to help clients face their ACES.
