Learner Objectives: As a result of having attended the meeting, the participants should have had the opportunity to: 1. The attendee will be able to state that emergent cases that have a hyperbaric indication for treatment, such as carbon monoxide poisoning, can be safely treated in a 9 to 5 clinic associated HBO department. 2. The attendee will be able to list at least 2 important references establishing the safety of treating emergent cases in a 9 to 5 clinic associated HBO2 department. 3. The attendee will be able to list at least 2 emergent conditions amenable to safe treatment in a 9 to 5 clinic associated HBO2 department. 4. Brief overview of medical ethics. 5. Understand Ethical issues in documentation and issues with copy and paste in electronic documentation. 6. Discuss fraud and abuse cases with hyperbaric medicine. 7. Explain and Understand Role of Advance Beneficiary Notice. 8. Understand Ethical issues with not having facilities for treating emergency HBO2 indications. 9. Discuss ethical issues with off label use and hyperbaric medicine. 10. Discuss ethical issues with promoting HBO2 therapy for unapproved use. 11. Discuss issues related with noncompliance related to HBO2 chamber. 12. Discuss false promotion of HBO2 chamber only approved for mountain sickness for use of other indication. 13. The attendee will be able to state that delayed radiation injuries are the most common indications for hyperbaric oxygen based on Medicare Billing data. 14. The attendee will be able to list at least two important references establishing hyperbaric oxygen as an effective treatment for radiation proctitis. 15. The attendee will be able to list at least three criticisms of the HOPON trial which claims to show that the Marx protocol for the neoadjuvant treatment of heavily radiated patients with Head and Neck cancer in conjunction with dental extractions are not needed. Evaluation Methods: Evaluation is offered through the online educational portal to ensure no bias is present within our educational program, how we can plan future educational program and address/overcome barriers, and general comments and rating of the program and speakers.
