Course overview

Covid-19 has completely and profoundly impacted the world. In 2020, we saw a radical departure from our normal daily lives and found ourselves scrambling to learn more about this virus before it could do more harm. Global cooperation led to increasing our research efforts to broadly understand the virus and then to mount a defense against it. Health care workers became known as "front line workers" and as such, it is imbedded within clinicians to better understand both the virus, as well as treatment and prevention strategies. This course explores the evidence on this novel virus, expanding the clinicians understanding of the pathophysiology as well as the ever-changing treatment approaches. Viewpoints from both a nursing and Physical therapy will be explored which can be applied to most health care roles and settings.
