Current Therapies for the Management of Diabetes
Tracking # 20-907309
Course overview
Diabetes affects approximately 463 million people worldwide (International Diabetes Federation, 2020). Diabetes frequently presents together with other comorbidities and can result in life-threatening complications. Over the past several decades, the number of adults diagnosed with diabetes in the U.S. has increased drastically. In 2018, 34.2 million Americans had diabetes, and this number increases by approximately 1.5 million every year (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2020). Unfortunately, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), rising numbers are now seen more in low to middle-income countries (WHO, 2021).
