PURPOSE: To update health care professionals on the risks, complications and management of diabetes.! OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this program the learner will be able to: Explain the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. Name 5 complications of diabetes. Identify the most important intervention in the care of the diabetic. List four medications commonly used in the treatment of diabetes.
