Course overview

A recent study revealed that approimately 75% of errors in blood gases resulted from pre-analytic factors. Today's blood gas analyzers are also capable of analysis of electrolytes, metabolites CO-Oximetry. this presentation reveals factors that contribute tot pre-analytic error. Special emphasis is given to the errors related to microclots and mitigation actions. Specific suggestions for minimizing pre-analytic sources of error will be offered.
