Covid 19 rapidly became the dreaded World War III, dramatically altering the way we live and work. This novel virus is not a novel event in trauma context. We will explore the counseling implications of Shared Traumatic Events including hurricanes, floods, wildfires and shootings. Concepts presented: age and culturally appropriate styles of Psychological First Aid, brief trauma focused interventions, creative therapy approach to initial assessment and the impact of Compassion Fatigue.
