Safe Patient Handling and Mobility

Course overview

Nursing assistants need to know about safe patient handling and mobility and how to use lifts and other equipment to improve patient outcomes and reduce personal injury. However, the necessary education is not always provided. This learning activity provides the background information needed to increase understanding about the importance of adhering to standards for safe patient handling and mobility. The focus will be procedures, equipment, and the importance of protecting your mobility and the safety of your patients. The goal of this course is to provide nursing assistants in healthcare settings with information about safe patient handling and mobility issues.
