Course overview

Updated for 2022, this course will present the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), including the privacy and security rules and exemption for Workers Compensation. The final rule for the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects, also called The Common Rule, which went into effect in January 2019, will be discussed. With the evolution of technologies involved in the medical community, new rules have emerged to cover those means of communicating with patients.
