Spinal Cord Injury: Treatment, Management, and Research

Course overview

Spinal cord injuries have been traumatizing human beings forever. With the advent of new technologies, medications and treatments people are living much longer lives with such injuries. In this course, we will review the spinal cord and column with an explanation of cord injuries, the mechanism of the injury, and the treatment, both acute and long term. With most traumatic injuries and broken bones, patients recover and may need to make some life changes, but patients who sustain a spinal cord injury, a whole new set of life skills is required.
