Course overview

This live webinar teaches participants how to use trauma-informed approaches and culturally responsive advocacy to assist immigrant and refugee families. Topics include the basics of immigration, the differences between documented and undocumented immigrants, barriers to seeking services, and immigration options for victims including VISA options for victims of crime. Participants will also learn about legal forms of relief and challenges facing victims in the domestic or civil court, criminal court, and juvenile courts. In addition, participants will develop a greater understanding of the concept of justice from the perspective of an immigrant and refugee.
